Welcome!! I am so excited to share my new blog idea - How it's made!
For my first segment, I will take you behind the lights and glamour and beautiful models of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and introduce you to how some of the iconic fashion shows' wildest creations were made!
My first job in the fashion industry was with the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. I worked on the show for a few years, sketching, creating design and theme ideas, and helping to build many different garments, wings, and accessories. It was fun and exciting! Every little detail of the outfits is well thought out and no two days were the same - one day decorating an entire line of designer shoes with Swarovski crystal, the next painting a custom Dalmation PINK dog. I had the opportunity to work on so many cool projects (and some that were tedious and not so glamorous.)
I posted some photos on Instagram and many of you asked how we build the iconic angel wings recognized around the world. So THANK YOU commenters for giving me this idea!! I will share the story and include some in-the-works (ITW) and behind-the-scene (BTS) images which I hope you find interesting :)

]]>Kelly by Lindsey is a luxury brand inspired by a talented, bad-ass, strong woman named Kelly Josephine Navin. She was my number one fan and always inspired me to take ZERO shit and to set ZERO limits.
I had the honor not only of having her in my life, but by my side every step of the way as I quickly reached success in the fashion world. She was my guest at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show before she passed - which was a big part of my career where I learned many couture techniques!
After losing Kelly, it was really difficult to find my way and believe I have a purpose in life - as short or as long as that may be. It was definitely hard for a time, and still can be, but I managed to find my calling to share what I've learned and create something beautiful, original and unique that is specific to each individual, as well as making available hand-crafted couture pieces that don't yet exist on the market.
I look forward to sharing along the way of this journey as I continue to grow and create with my guardian angel (superwoman) always by my side.
Lindsey

Materials
If you are looking to make an N95 mask, there is not an exact way with store-bought materials, however, an N95 filter protects 95% of germs, whereas a vacuum cleaner filter protects 92% so it's pretty darn close! By adding the metal nose strip, the airflow is directed away from the eyes and outward from the face making this mask a close second to an actual N95 mask.
Fabric to use for no lining needed;
Vacuum Cleaner Bag (filters almost as much as N95) - 92% protection
Ironing Board Cover (lined with felt or fused)
Dish Towel (less protection but can cover an N95 to protect with breathability) - 83% protection
Self Fabric (from most Protection to least);
Cotton Blend Fabric - 74% protection
Stretch Cotton/T-Shirt Material (little protection/64% but can cover an N95 to protect with breathability)
Antimicrobial Pillowcase - 65% protection
Pillowcase or woven shirt - 62% protection
Muslin or loosely woven fabric - 60% protection
It is best to use a lining or interfacing that in NONWOVEN for these materials- this will give much more protection.
Linings (from most Protection to least);
Felt - BEST protection/washable
Nonwoven interfacing - Good protection washable
Paper Towel - BEST protection/disposable
Tissue (3 or 4 ply) - Good protection/disposable
Tissue 2 ply - Good protection/disposable
Metal Nose Strip
Any Bendable wire such as a flimsy close hanger or gardening wire
Small metal materials such as paperclips or bobby pins wrapped in tin foil
